OOF Books is pleased to present You Are Here, a two-person exhibition of work by artists Alex Stern and Kelly Infield. The inaugural exhibition at OOF’s new location on Los Angeles Street, You Are Here interrupts the traditional painter’s grid—taking it beyond its flat canvas binds in Infield’s functional sculptures and warping it with Stern’s harmoniously asymmetrical paintings. These works, shown together, make obvious the contrast in the fragility and fallibility of the human condition as compared to the precision of the grid: a device that was often utilized in design or art prior to our contemporary period to construct depth and form.
